Default How much power do/does moderators/anet have?

I have been trying to get quests and missions completed, mostly in Pugs. Lately, there has been a rise in scammers, from people who go afk after mission starts to others who seem to go off in there own directon apart from the groups (maybe bots?).

At any rate, my idea would be to have some sort of command, to call attention to a moderator/anet for them to view problem in real time.
While this could be a headache for moderators/anet, with 100's of notices going off at once, they could resolve each one on an individual basis.

If the person sending the signal, sends an erroneous or false signal they will lose signaling priviledges.

But another use would be to be able to add a henchie, in cases of drops (error 7) or leavers.

If anet is going assume people are bots based on certain actions, then they can certainly help the average player not get frustrated by things beyond the players control or realm of the game.

I recently spent 4.5 hours in Urgoz Warren, only to have all monks and rits leave just before end of mission (by the time we finally gave up we were down to 5 people).

None of the two actions you mentioned are breaking any rule.

The first is just a leecher, wont ever get banned for this, nor any marks.
Second one maybe the person knows about a boss over that place that has an elite/drop,maybe he knows a shortcut, maybe he knows what you have to do in a certain mission and you dont.

How did you ever come to the conclusion that this person could be a bot???
I dont see the action that would make me believe its a bot.
I dont even think people with bots use theyr bots while doing missions, that just isnt right. The reason people use bots is to farm, and they do that alone,or i would guess with other bots.

Did the monks and ritualist leave at the same time?
If they did ,did you ever think they might have error 7 out?(Lost connection)

It seem to me you just jump to conlcutions too fast.
OMG!! hes not listen to me!!BAN!! Hes going the wrong way !!BOT!!

On the suggestion /not signed You do know that having people to respond to alarms means these people will have to get payed right?Where do you think the money for this would come?Thats right, from us.

I think you are misunderstanding my intentions. First off, I have never seen a "bot", wouldn't know one to see it. Secondly, my idea is to have someway of protecting members in a party from players that drop (err 7, etc.) to have henchies fill thier spot.

I in no way want someone banned, this isn't my decision anyway, but if they can monitor for Bots, and excessive farming, they should also be able to monitor for changes in party size in missions and be able to fill vacancies if wanted.

If not for a ban ,what else do you expect the moderator should do when you send an alarm message to him?

Ask team if they would like to replace dropped member with a henchmen, party leader can answer yes or no, if yes is selected, list of available henchies will be listed to select from. This in itself could be automated, to show up when party size decreases.

As for problems with scammers, I've seen a few B/P who go afk in tombs each level while everyone else does all the fighting. When party gets out of view (lvls 2-4) they go behind group and pick up everything left on ground, then wait for group to finish The Darkness and collects greens back in tombs that were assigned to them.

What i read is that you want one sollution for both, which in this case cant be done.

Why bother a moderator? why not make it a automatic thing that happens when players drop.

Yet again i am trying to tell you these people ( the b/p in this case) are NOT scammers, they are just leechers they can not be banned because of this.

Yes of course you are right about the leechers. I mis-spoke there.

But as far as the automated party refill, this could be done fairly simply, I believe.

Though nothing in this game is as simple as it seems...

I agree with the henchie replacement for error 7 but for the leechers, I think that the group leader should be able to kick a player whenever they want (even in the middle of a run) and replace them with a henchie. This can lead to some abuse (they get kicked for the leader to get one of their drops), but it can be that the player can collect those certain drops after zoning back.

the real solution is to join a more active guild and try to do things with them.

Ok, we can all agree nothing can be done about leechers (except complain).

Now to the other issue, the henchie replacement seems to be a valid doable option for this game.

As for the guild suggestion, sorry, been in 5 guilds, first one, I went on vacation and got dropped for being inactive for 1 week, second and third disbanded, fourth had a guild leader and officers who didn't have Factions, and spent majority of time trying to 3 man farm SF, last guild had a bunch of teenagers (I think) running it, all were friends and went to school together so no playing on school nights and were always being called away to do chores.

So my luck with guilds hasn't been to good....
